Up Downs

Up Downs

In football, we always say "low man wins" within a grapple based on the lower player having more leverage over the opposition. This is also true in everyday existence, so it makes sense to stay low when powering through a play or life. However the second part of that saying is "keep your head up" to see where you’re going, what’s coming at you, or what you're hitting.

This is why it concerns me to often hear people say keep ya head down, stay low, out the way, and get this money when the going gets tough through a life situation. That sounds more like fear talking. Really you just barely making it while conceding in a system that continues to operate terribly, therefore more so upholding the toxicity. This is exactly what worldly powers that be want. You hunched over with your head down focused on staying out the way to make more for them ultimately. Visualize what this looks like then try to convince me that’s not the image of a scared slave.

Just like properly controlling a kite, staying grounded and low, while keeping your head up to see what and where you're flying is more appropriate. Solidarity, self-sustenance, and security are not trade-offs for money. These things do not have to be sacrificed nor are they mutually exclusive, but rather dependent upon each other when considering the wholistic wellness of society.

Love the way you breathe on purpose.
